Experienced Landscaper

Skippers Grounds Maintenance Limited is seeking an experienced Landscaper to join our growing team. We deliver high-quality landscaping projects across domestic and commercial sites in Essex and nearby counties.

Our work includes turfing, planting, paving, fencing, decking, and general garden construction and maintenance. We’re looking for a reliable and skilled landscaper with a strong work ethic.

The role will involve:

  • Soft and hard landscaping tasks such as turfing, planting, fencing, and paving
  • Site preparation, groundwork, and levelling
  • Use of machinery and hand tools safely
  • Maintaining tools and vehicles
  • Driving company vehicles to sites across the area
  • Communicating with the office and team about job progress
  • Following health & safety policies

 Requirements:

  • Minimum 3 years’ experience in landscaping
  • Competence in both soft and hard landscaping
  • Full UK driving licence
  • Physically fit and reliable

 Employment Details:

  • Permanent full-time position with holiday pay

Hours:
Monday – Friday, 7:00am - 5:00pm Summer hours, 7:30am - 4:15pm Winter hours.

Arboricultural Groundsman

We are currently seeking a reliable and qualified Arboricultural Groundsman to join our team on the arboriculture services side of the business.

This position is primarily ground-based, with key responsibilities supporting our lead climber during operations. Applicants must hold a valid Aerial Rescue (CS38) certification to ensure safe and effective teamwork on-site.

The role will involve:

  • Assist climbers with rigging, lowering, and clearing operations
  • Operate chainsaws and other arboricultural equipment safely
  • Maintain tools and equipment to a high standard
  • Ensure work sites are kept safe, tidy, and professional
  • Support the team with aerial rescue capability when required

Requirements:

  • Valid NPTC/LANTRA units: CS30, CS31, and CS38 (Aerial Rescue)
  • A strong work ethic with a proactive and professional approach
  • Physically fit and confident in demanding outdoor work
  • Awareness of and commitment to health & safety practices
  • Reliable transport to and from our depot or job sites
  • Good communication and teamwork skills
