Arboricultural Ground Operative
Skippers Grounds Maintenance Limited has been established since 2009 and is expanding our arboriculture services team to meet increasing demand. We pride ourselves on delivering safe, professional tree and shrub care to our valued clients.
We work across Essex and surrounding areas, servicing domestic, commercial, and public sector contracts. We are looking for a motivated and qualified Groundsman to join our experienced arboriculture team.
The role will involve:
- Assisting climbers with rigging, lowering, and aerial rescue support
- Operating chainsaws and other arboricultural equipment safely
- Maintaining tools and equipment
- Clearing and managing timber and debris on site
- Driving company vehicles to various job sites
- Following health & safety policies and best practices
- Working independently or as part of a team
Requirements:
- Valid NPTC/LANTRA certificates including CS30, CS31, and Aerial Rescue (CS38)
- Good physical fitness and safety awareness
- Positive, hardworking attitude and reliable
- Driving licence preferred

Experienced Landscaper
Skippers Grounds Maintenance Limited is seeking an experienced Landscaper to join our growing team. We deliver high-quality landscaping projects across domestic and commercial sites in Essex and nearby counties.
Our work includes turfing, planting, paving, fencing, decking, and general garden construction and maintenance. We’re looking for a reliable and skilled landscaper with a strong work ethic.
The role will involve:
- Soft and hard landscaping tasks such as turfing, planting, fencing, and paving
- Site preparation, groundwork, and levelling
- Use of machinery and hand tools safely
- Maintaining tools and vehicles
- Driving company vehicles to sites across the area
- Communicating with the office and team about job progress
- Following health & safety policies
Requirements:
- Minimum 3 years’ experience in landscaping
- Competence in both soft and hard landscaping
- Full UK driving licence
- Physically fit and reliable

Experienced Ground Maintenance Operative
Skippers Grounds Maintenance Limited have been established since 2009 and are looking to expand our team further to accommodate the demand in work. We are contractors for many schools, councils, sports clubs and housing associations, carrying our high standards through all aspects of our work.
Our services include grass mowing (push and ride-on), strimming, white lining of school playing fields, hedge cutting, clearing leaves and litter picking.
Due to our workload rapidly expanding Skippers Ground Maintenance are looking motivated Grounds Maintenance Operatives to join our experienced grounds team.
We operate in many schools across the county and therefore will be carrying out DBS checks on the successful candidates.
The role will involve:
- grass mowing (push and ride-on)
- White line marking
- Hedge cutting
- Clearing of leaves and litter
- Maintain shrub beds
- Use specialist equipment and machinery and hand tools
- Often working on your own or as part of a team
- Driving a company vehicle to domestic and commercial properties across our area
- Speak to the office to provide updates regarding jobs completed
- Provide excellent customer services to all customers
- Follow current health & safety policies
Hours:
Monday – Friday, 7:00am - 5:00pm Summer hours, 7:30am - 4:15pm Winter hours.
Opportunity for overtime during the summer months.
